Meet Lindsey Loyd
Senior Consultant
Lindsey Loyd is a nonprofit fundraising strategist and implementer who helps mission-driven organizations cut through the noise, clarify their goals, and build strategies that lead to real progress.
With nearly 15 years in fundraising and nonprofit work, Lindsey partners with organizations to better understand their donor landscape, rethink their fundraising approach, and strengthen what’s working or rebuild what’s not. She currently serves as a Senior Consultant at Windmill Hill Consulting, where we don’t just offer tips or templates. We help organizations break out of default mode and shape strategies that fit their mission, moment, and people. Together, we figure out what makes their work stand out, how to talk about it, and who’s most likely to match – or even exceed – their passion and support it for the long haul.
Previously, Lindsey was a Senior Consultant at Graham-Pelton, where she led two major campaigns totaling $52 million, served as interim Chief Development Officer, and guided organizations through campaign feasibility planning. She has also worked on the fundraising front lines. As Major Gifts Officer at New Orleans City Park, she secured individual and corporate gifts and laid the groundwork for a parkwide strategic plan, which hadn’t been done since before Hurricane Katrina. At Orr Group, she supported nonprofits as they found their footing and offered practical strategies for long-term planning, funder outreach, and grant success.
Lindsey’s love for fundraising started early. While at Florida State University, she led her sorority’s philanthropy efforts and raised nearly $300,000 for domestic violence awareness as Vice President of Philanthropy and helped raise $1Mil+ for FSU’s Dance Marathon.
Between her time working in-house at a nonprofit and more than a decade of consulting, Lindsey has seen nearly every corner of fundraising. And if she hasn’t, she brings the curiosity and resourcefulness to find the right tools and guidance to tackle it. She brings that experience to help your organization move forward with clarity and purpose.
Today, she continues to champion the nonprofit sector through her board service with AFP-Greater New Orleans. Outside of work, you’ll likely find her talking about her “job” because she truly loves it and lives it. When she’s not nerding out over development, she’s out exploring New Orleans, embracing the live music scene, wrangling her two rescue dogs, crafting (mostly bedazzled) costumes, or pitching in with the local organizations that help keep the city as sparkly and magical as it is.
