Veronica is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) who loves a plan and getting organized whether it’s a grocery list, a fundraising plan, or policies and procedures. Veronica has been in the nonprofit space for over 15 years from serving as an AmeriCorps Volunteer in Service to America to working in programs, volunteer management, event fundraising, development, grant writing, dabbling in marketing and serving as a Chief Operating Officer. In all her experiences, the best piece of advice she still follows is “Is it in the (strategic) plan?” There are so many ways to get distracted by your goals and using a roadmap to weigh decisions against is the most helpful tool to this day.

As a military spouse, Veronica realizes moving frequently isn’t ideal for in-person fundraising jobs, but she is able to provide short-term support and practical advice to those still serving directly with a nonprofit by working with a variety of organizations through Windmill Hill Consulting. When Veronica isn’t working, she volunteers. Veronica serves on the Fund Development Council of the Junior League of the Woodlands. She serves as a National Vice President to Sigma Sigma Sigma National Sorority. In what’s left of her free time, she enjoys playing with her toddler, running, visiting new places like an MLB baseball stadium or National Park, and reading a new book.
